Self Income Analyzer Glossary
These definitions are the standard meaning of terms used throughout the Analyzer, Lister Portal, Browse, and matching system.
Anywhere With Internet
Work that can generally be performed from different locations as long as reliable internet access and any other stated requirements are available.
Business Profit
Money remaining from a business activity after its applicable costs and expenses are paid.
Commission
Compensation calculated from a sale, transaction, revenue amount, or other measurable business result.
Commission-Only Income
Income where no base pay or guaranteed compensation is provided and earnings depend entirely on completed sales, transactions, referrals, or other qualifying results.
Customer Acquisition Required
The participant is responsible for finding or generating at least some of the customers, clients, buyers, or qualified prospects needed to earn.
Digital / Online Work
Work whose core tasks are performed using a computer, smartphone, internet connection, software, or online platform.
Digital Product / Royalty
Income tied to creating, owning, licensing, or selling a digital product or digital content, such as software, an ebook, course, template, music, image, video, or other digital asset. It does not mean merely promoting someone else’s digital product.
Direct Sales
Selling products or services directly to customers outside a traditional retail store or employer-operated sales channel.
Gig / Task Work
Work made up of individual jobs, assignments, gigs, deliveries, services, or tasks that are accepted and completed separately.
Helpful / Optional
The item can make the opportunity easier, faster, more effective, or more practical, but it is not required to participate or earn.
Independent Business
An income activity operated by the participant as their own business rather than as a traditional employee.
Inventory Required
The participant must purchase, hold, manage, or maintain products or inventory in order to participate or earn.
MLM / Multi-Level Marketing
A compensation structure in which one participant can financially benefit from the sales, purchases, recruiting, or activity of other participants they sponsor, recruit, place, or build into a team or downline.
Network / Affiliate Programs
Programs where earnings are generated by promoting, referring, recommending, or helping connect other people to a company, product, service, app, or opportunity. Compensation may be paid when a referred person makes a purchase, registers, subscribes, becomes a customer, or completes another qualifying action.
Not Required
The opportunity does not require this item, resource, condition, or qualification.
On-Camera Work
Work that requires the participant to appear visibly in recorded or live video as a material part of the earning activity.
Ongoing Required Cost
A recurring, usage-based, periodic, or continuing cost that must be paid to remain able to participate, operate, or earn.
Paid Advertising Required
The participant must spend money on advertising or paid promotion as a material requirement to participate or earn.
Paid For Time Worked
Income based primarily on the amount of time worked rather than on a sale, referral, completed project, or other specific result.
Per Project
Income earned for completing an agreed project or deliverable, regardless of the exact number of hours required.
Per Task
Income earned for completing an individual defined task or action.
Platform / App
A website, software product, app, or digital platform through which users perform activity, connect with customers, access opportunities, or participate in an earning program.
Product Profit
Income earned from the difference between the cost of obtaining or producing a product and the amount received when it is sold.
Promoting Apps / Digital Services
Earning activity centered on introducing, recommending, demonstrating, or referring people to an app, website, software product, subscription, or other digital service.
Recurring / Residual
Income that can continue after an initial qualifying action, sale, referral, license, subscription, or customer relationship, subject to the applicable program terms.
Referral / Affiliate
Income earned when a person promotes, refers, recommends, or connects someone to a company, product, service, app, or offer and receives compensation after a qualifying action occurs.
Remote Work
Work that does not require regular presence at a specific employer or company location. Remote work may still involve schedules, meetings, location restrictions, or other requirements.
Rental Income
Income earned by allowing another person or business to use an owned or controlled asset for a fee.
Required
The opportunity cannot realistically be performed or entered without this item, resource, condition, or qualification.
Startup Cost
A cost that must realistically be incurred before or near the beginning of participation in order to start operating or earning.
Work From Home
Work performed primarily from the participant’s home rather than at a company workplace, customer location, or other physical job site.
Social-Media-Dependent Work
An opportunity where maintaining, posting to, growing, or actively using social media is a material requirement for earning, not merely an optional promotional method.
